Preparing RSO in a gummy mixture
RSO is oil-like while most gummy bases contain water. This can lead to separation.
- Prepare the gummy base first and ready the molds so the batch can be filled promptly.
- Soften the sealed RSO syringe gently in a waterproof bag in warm water and measure the intended extract.
- Premix the RSO with a little compatible edible oil for an oil-based formulation, or with a small portion of warm melted candy for a remelted-candy recipe.
- Stir the premix into the still-fluid gummy mixture and mold promptly. Check for signs of separation.
Oil-like RSO and water-based gummies can separate. An emulsifier may help disperse oil but cannot establish equal THC per gummy.
Emulsifiers may improve dispersion but do not prove homogeneity. Read the scratch gummy recipe or store-bought gummy method.
