Finding Hope When Answers Are Hard to Find
Mercy Leaf was inspired by my dad’s cancer journey and the lessons learned through caregiving, trauma, loss and healing.
Today, I share cannabis education, trusted resources and personal experiences to help others navigate similar paths.
Why I Started Mercy Leaf
In 2010, my dad was diagnosed with cancer.
Watching him fight that battle changed the course of my life.
Years later, those experiences inspired me to create Mercy Leaf, a place to share what I learned through caregiving, trauma, loss, recovery and the search for hope.
My hope is simple: if this information helps even one person feel more informed, more supported or less alone, then it’s worth sharing.

From Personal Experience
Mercy Leaf wasn’t created by a corporation or healthcare organization.
It was built by a veteran, caregiver, father and cannabis advocate who spent years searching for answers after trauma and loss.
The goal isn’t to have all the answers.
The goal is to share what I’ve learned and help others feel less alone in their search.
What We Are and Are Not
Mercy Leaf Is:
- Cannabis education
- Trusted resources
- Personal experience
- Community and hope
Mercy Leaf is Not:
- Medical advice
- Treatment recommendations
- Cannabis sales
- A substitute for professional care
Daily Reflections
Knee deep in wtf, but at least there is weed
Some days don’t need a better calendar.
They need a pause button.
We’ve all had those seasons where nothing seems to go according to plan. The email you didn’t want arrives. The bills stack up. The phone rings with bad news. You spill your coffee before the day even starts and wonder if the universe is keeping score.
Welcome to “knee-deep in WTF.”
It’s a place most of us visit eventually.
The difference is how we respond.
Some people reach for another drink. Some shut down. Some lash out. Others simply keep pushing until burnout catches them.
For many people, cannabis offers something different.
Not an escape from reality—but a chance to return to it with a little more patience.
A chance to unclench your jaw.
To laugh when everything feels absurd.
To quiet the racing thoughts long enough to remember that not every problem has to be solved in the next five minutes.
Cannabis doesn’t magically fix broken relationships, erase trauma or pay overdue bills. It won’t make difficult conversations disappear or guarantee tomorrow will be easier.
But it can create enough space between the chaos and your reaction to help you choose your next step instead of simply surviving the moment.
Sometimes that’s enough.
Sometimes healing doesn’t begin with having all the answers.
Sometimes it begins with taking one deep breath, finding one genuine laugh and realizing you’re still here.
Still standing.
Still fighting.
Still hopeful.
Life will always have its share of “WTF” moments.
The goal isn’t to avoid them.
It’s to meet them with a little more grace, a little less panic and—if cannabis is a safe, legal tool for you—a reminder that even the hardest days don’t get the final word.
Keep going.
Tomorrow has surprised people before.
